Post Op Dental Bonding

Dental Bonding Post-Op Instructions
Congratulations on your dental bonding treatment! Proper care after your procedure will ensure the longevity and success of your newly bonded teeth. Please follow these instructions carefully:

1. Avoid Staining Foods and Drinks for the First 48 Hours
Dental bonding material can be prone to staining immediately after the procedure. Avoid coffee, tea, red wine, soda, berries, soy sauce and other dark or highly pigmented foods and drinks during this time.

2. Be Gentle with Your Teeth
Bonded teeth are strong, but they are not invincible. Avoid biting your nails, chewing on pens, ice or hard foods like candy or nuts, which could chip the bonding material.

3. Maintain Excellent Oral Hygiene
Brush your teeth at least twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Floss daily to remove plaque and prevent gum issues. Keeping your bonded teeth clean will help them stay in good condition.

4. Watch for Sensitivity
It is normal to experience mild sensitivity to hot or cold temperatures for a few days. This should resolve on its own. If sensitivity persists beyond a week, contact our office for guidance.

5. Schedule Regular Dental Checkups
Routine visits allow us to monitor the condition of the bonding material and ensure your oral health remains optimal. Professional cleanings also help prevent discoloration of the bonded areas.

6. Avoid Smoking
Smoking can stain the bonding material and compromise your overall oral health. If you are a smoker, this is an excellent opportunity to consider quitting.

7. Report Any Issues
If you notice chipping, cracking or discoloration of the bonded areas, or if your bite feels uneven, please call our office right away. These issues are often easy to correct.

Taking care of your bonded teeth will help you enjoy a beautiful, confident smile for years to come. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact our office. We are here to help!
