Post Op Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride Treatment Post-Op Instructions
Thank you for choosing fluoride treatment to protect and strengthen your teeth. To ensure the best results and maximize the benefits of your treatment, please follow these guidelines:

  • Avoid eating or drinking for 30 minutes. This waiting period allows the fluoride to fully adhere to your teeth for optimal protection.
  • Do not rinse, brush or floss immediately. Hold off on oral hygiene for at least 4 to 6 hours, or as directed by your dentist, to ensure the fluoride remains on your teeth longer.
  • Avoid hot or sticky foods for the rest of the day. Extremely hot items and sticky or chewy foods, like candy or gum, can disrupt the fluoride application.
  • Drink plenty of water. Keeping hydrated is beneficial for your overall oral health but avoid rinsing your mouth excessively.
  • Report any unusual symptoms. While rare, if you experience sensitivity, irritation or other concerns, contact our office for guidance.

Fluoride treatment is an essential step in protecting your teeth from decay and enhancing their strength. If you have additional questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to our office. We are here to help you maintain a healthy, beautiful smile!
